Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport Brief Layover Northwest Flight 1061 10-Sep-2005
During a stopover in Detroit, I was able to snap some photos of aircraft that I do not normally see everyday. I was eager to see the 747-400, Airbus 330s, Avros, and other types. Detroit was a major hub for Northwest Airlines in those days. This would be the layover after my DC-9-40 Flight 1061 which you could read about here.
My initial opinions of the facility was that it was fairly clean and respectable looking. The only thing I had issue with was the way they put the dots on the windows to shade the terminal from the sun made photo opportunities rather difficult.
My layover in Detroit DTW was brief and I had to catch the next flight. I boarded a Northwest Airlines 757-200 for the final leg of the trip to Minneapolis–Saint Paul.
